Danish guitarist Jakob Bro became known thanks to an album by drummer Paul Motian and his Electric Bebop Band (Garden of Eden, 2006) and later as a member of the European quintet by trumpeter Tomasz Stanko (Dark Eyes, 2009). These are two albums recorded by ECM, who immediately saw Bro as one of the most heartbreaking personalities in contemporary jazz and with whom they have already recorded five albums as a leader. “A lot of my music is built around a melody,” he explains. «Many of my compositions are like a song. But within the margin that I establish with a melody many things can happen. Perfect definition of this guitarist’s restless music.
