AJIM’17 JAZZ QUARTET (NO, CA, IB)

The ménage a jazz concerts turn out to be one the highlights and a distinctive hallmark of the Alternatilla Jazz festival. With them the festival achieves one of its main objectives: to profit from the diversity and cultural exchange facilitated by the mix of musicians coming from very different cultural backgrounds, in this case the Norwegian and the Mallorcan. With these concerts the festival brings together different ways of understanding and performing jazz music, becoming a melting pot of styles, establishing a musical dialogue and giving way to improvisation, witch is part of the essence of the genre.

The first of these concerts which Alternatilla Jazz has organised for the occasion will get together two excellent but very different Norwegian jazz players, bassist Mats Eilertsen and drummer Siv Øyunn Kjenstad, with the renowned Catalan saxophonist Llibert Fortuny and Mallorcan trumpet player Pep Garau.
